MINI-WORKSHOPS FOR FALL 2009
All workshops are at the Joseph House Gallery
and are $55 each. They will all be approximately
4 hours, taught by JHG members and open to
anyone, members and non-members alike.

SEPTEMBER
Arlaine Morrison will conduct a watercolor workshop “Fun with Yupo” on Friday,
September 18, 2009, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Yupo is a synthetic paper, glossy and does not
wrinkle. Arlaine produces the most brilliant watercolors on yupo. Yupo will be available at
the workshop. If weather permits the workshop will be outdoors.
Dick Millman will conduct a plein air workshop on Friday, October 9, 2009, from 12:30 –
4:30 PM., “Painting the Neighborhood.” Following a short lecture on ways to start, a review
on perspective and a quick demo. Then we proceed to the site, probably the Pemberton
House, get comfortable on a folding chair and paint, with the instructor giving constant
critiques. We will work fast with large brushes. If the painting isn't quite finished,
enough will be done so you can finish it later in your studio. Shoot the scene with your
digital camera so you will have all the information you need. Materials needed: standard
watercolor painting gear (or whatever medium you prefer to work in.) A quarter sheet
of paper (11”x15”) and a board with clips or a block, water container, a wide brim hat and a
folding chair.
